Eid Events
We marked the end of the blessed month of Ramadan by hosting an Inara Eid Party which was lots of fun! This was open to volunteers, service users and anyone else who wanted to attend. There was plenty of yummy food as well as games for the kids and henna being applied. This was the perfect way to conclude the month of fasting and it put a smile on many faces.
Communal Iftars
We were lucky enough to be able to hold an iftar for the day of Ashura this year! This event was opened up to the community and we invited everyone to bring their mums, sisters, friends and family along to get together and break our fasts on this blessed night.
The night started off with a speech from our leads followed by iftar meals which were provided by Inara Project. The turnout was amazing and it was lovely to see so many people gathered together, celebrating this day.
Cambridge Mosque Daytrip
One of our key aims within the Inara Project is to work sustainability and in favour of the environment. Aligning with this, we collaborated with the Dorset Bengali Association to organise a day trip to Cambridge Central Mosque!
Cambridge Central Mosque has been built with sustainable aims from natural sinlight illumination, to the usage of rainwater for plumbing and irrigation.
This was a wonderful opportunity as it brought together many different women and we all explored the beautfil mosque and how it plays its part in sustaining an environmentally friendly planet
VIRTUAL SESSIONS
The In Our Voices sessions are hosted virtually during Covid-19. Everyone is welcome to join either to actively listen in or take part and share opinions. Your webcams are optional.
